Consider A Trade Career
It’s no secret that teens today face a lot of pressure to go to college, and while a college degree can definitely be beneficial, there are plenty of other options that can offer just as great of an opportunity and much less debt. That’s why I think teens should seriously consider a trade career.
A trade career gives you the opportunity to learn a skill that’s always in demand, and you can get started right away. You don’t have to wait four years to become an electrician or an HVAC technician, and you don’t have to take out piles of student loans either. With a trade career, you can start a job with a good salary much sooner.
That’s not all though. A trade career also offers many of the same benefits that you would get with any other profession such as job stability, a sense of accomplishment, and access to strong networks. And, depending on the job, you may even get to work primarily outdoors and stay quite active throughout the day.
Another great benefit of trade careers is that they offer a ton of career advancement opportunities. Even if you start out as an apprentice, you could easily move up quickly and become a master technician and open your own business.
In short,trade careers offer teens a great way to begin a successful, rewarding career without taking on as much debt. It’s definitely worth considering!
